Syosset Real Estate

Syosset; Area Information

Syosset is a small and quaint hamlet located on Long Island and 32 miles from northeast downtown NYC. It borders with other areas like West Hills, Oyster Bay, Oyster Bay Cove, Old Bethpage, Bethpage, New Cassel, Cold Springs Harbor, Muttontown, Laurel Hollow, Woodbury, Plainview, Jericho, Hicksville, and East Norwich.

Before it was renamed Syosset, the area was called East Woods in 1648 when the first settlements started living there.

Given its position with close proximity to the Big Apple and other key areas in the state and its own reputation, many are interested in buying property in Syosset.

At Giulio Ferrante, Signature Premier Properties, in my capacity as a listing agent, I often receive questions and queries about how good a place Syosset is to live. In the following post, that is what we are going to look at.

Things to do in Syosset

As Syosset has a large percentage of families and children in the area, there are various local attractions and places designed to entertain everyone from the very young to the old. There is, for example, Trail View State Park, which consists of more than 400 acres of parkland offering wildlife habitats, hiking, biking trails, and a lot more. There are also places like Active Kids Long Island Inc and Bounce! Family Entertainment Center, offer laser tag, arcade games, snacks, inflatable rides, climbing walls, basketball hoops, dodgeball, and trampolines respectively.

Syosset Restaurants

Who doesn’t like to have a treat and eat out in a nice restaurant? Fortunately, there are many great options covering a wonderous array of different cuisines. Two that stand out in particular, though, are Mara’s Southern Kitchen and Rare650 Prime Steak and Sushi. While Mara’s offers a layback environment where some of the most mouthwatering Cajun dishes such as jambalaya, catfish, crawfish etouffee, and gumbo, Rare650 as the name suggests has some of the most amazing steaks and classy seafood sides and starters. Whether you love your ribeye, sirloin, filet mignon, porterhouse, or the classic T-bone, you will not be disappointed with a trip here.
